On July 1, 2017, Canada celebrated its 150th birthday and our family crossed the border to spend the weekend driving across southern Ontario, entering at Windsor and exiting at Niagara Falls. Determined to spend some quality time lake side, we drove until we reached beautiful Lake St. Clair, a fresh water lake between Ontario, Canada and Michigan, USA. Lake St. Clair was named after Clare of Assisi in 1679 by French Catholics exploring the area on the saint's feast day. Today, the lake is enjoyed by many on both sides of the border. A popular spot for fishermen and wildlife we couldn't resist pulling out the camera and getting a few beauty shots. Word of warning for fellow adventurers, don't forget the insect repellent.
