For asthmatics, traveling with asthma friendly companions is of the utmost importance. With education, a traveling companion can help an asthmatic avoid triggers through developing self-awareness and reconnaissance habits. They can also assist when asthma difficulties arise. In this article we will raise awareness of fragrance triggers. Many individuals are sensitive to chemical fragrances. Some reactions include headache, congestion, coughing, and asthma attacks.

Do not lose hope after reading the list of items containing fragrance. Travel is more than possible; it is joyful! Chemical fragrances are very difficult to avoid, for what causes an asthma attack in one individual, brings aromatic pleasure to another. Traveling companions and asthmatics can find many of the above items in unscented forms or use simple substitutes. It is my hope that awareness is increased for the benefit of everyone with a respiratory disorder. Until then, wearing a high quality mask that removes minute particles of 0.3 microns or smaller provides good protection for most people. Travel, wear the mask when needed, and enjoy!!
