Pompeii, Italy...Who can resist the heartbreaking story of this magnificent, ancient city? I know I couldn't and spent my last day in Italy roaming its stone cobbled streets, peering into every door and window. The city did not disappoint and was well worth the effort to explore; however, I recommend going in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the bulk of the crowds. Clambering across ancient ruins under the Italian sun is hot, sweaty work, so make sure and stop by the vendor stalls at the exit for a delicious, fresh squeezed lemon-orange juice.
